The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's track and field team looks to continue a rich tradition of success and compete for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship during the 2017 season, which begins this Saturday with the Karl Schlender Invitational at Kachel Fieldhouse in the Williams Center.

A total of 992 students have been named to the Carthage College Dean's List for the Fall 2016 semester.

Yearly, Carthage College invites the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the annual Carthage Christmas Festival, three performances of readings and music in the A. F. Siebert Chapel. These annual concerts are the College's Christmas gift to the community. Tickets to the Christmas Festival have been free since the festival began more than 20 years ago.

The concert featured the Carthage Choir and Carthage Women's Ensemble. Special guests included the Crystal Lake Central High School A Capella Singers, Glenbrook High School Master Singers, and Prairie Ridge High School A Cappella Choir. The event took place at the Chicago Symphony Center.

Four members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team were selected All-North Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater cross country teams open the 2016 season this Saturday, Sept. 17, with the second annual Tom Hoffman Invitational at the UW-Whitewater campus cross country trail. The women's race will begin at 10:45 a.m. and is followed by the men's competition at 11:45 a.m.

Coming off its best season in school history, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team, a quarterfinalist in last year's NCAA DIII Championship, will look to an experienced core of returners as it seek its sixth Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in seven years and sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Biology and Geography of Nicaragua study tour provided a unique opportunity for students to experience either clinical work, or work on water projects. Both aspects provided students first-hand knowledge of the rural volcanic island of Ometepe, Nicaragua. Students also learned the fascinating history, culture, and environment of this country, and saw how all of this has affected the land and people.

McKendree University welcomes a record number of first-year students this fall to its Lebanon, Ill., campus; Kentucky campuses; the Center at Scott Air Force Base; and online. The Class of 2020 represents 28 states and 20 countries!

A total of 367 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student-athletes representing all 20 of the institution's varsity sport programs were named to the 2015-16 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll, which was announced Thursday, July 21.

A hallmark of the Carthage experience since the mid-1990s, the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience offers students across academic divisions the opportunity to engage in collaborative full-time research with professors. Students work closely with a faculty mentor on a new or developing line of research.

A total of 833 students have been named to the Carthage College Dean's List for the Spring 2016 semester.

On Sunday, May 8 at 4 p.m. in the A. F. Siebert Chapel, the choirs at Carthage participated in the annual Spring Choral Concert.

Eighteen students in the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences have been initiated into Kappa Omicron Nu, a national honor society for students in the human sciences. Initiation recognizes students for their distinguished academic record and potential for serving as an excellent professional.
